Wire Sawing

Snack bars come in all forms. Choose from yogurt covered, fruit filled, or chocolate chip bars. Some are advertised as healthy, low calorie, low fat snack bars. I love to shop for healthy, tasty snacks to keep me going throughout the day. Read on to learn more about Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills and learn whether this would be a wise choice of snack.

I knew as soon as I saw a box of Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills that I had to give them a try. It cost $1.50 for a box of 5 bars, which works out to just $0.30 each. I saw no reason why I would not like these bars. The price was just right, and they contained oats and chocolate, which sounded like a really good combination.

The packaging of Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills looks and sounds good. For example, the front of the box states that the snack bars are naturally flavoured. I was pleased to learn this, as so many snacks contain artificial flavours that put me off before I have even taken a bite out of them. What also impressed me was the fact that each 40g bar contains 35% of a person’s daily recommended amount of fibre. But would Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills pass my taste test?

As soon as I bit into a bar, I could taste the chocolate and oats. It didn’t seem as if I was eating a “healthy” bar at all. It was chewy, moist and delicious.

Each bar contains 140 calories, 1.5g of saturated fat, no cholesterol, 90mg of sodium, 29g of carbohydrate, 9g of dietary fibre, 10g of sugar and 2g of protein. From the nutrition information we can see that this is product is low in calories, saturated fat and sodium. It is a good source of fibre, just as the packaging claimed and it is also a good source of protein.

I must admit that if Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills had not been on sale, I probably would not have looked twice at it. But I am glad that I tried this product. Not only does it make a sensible snacking choice, but it also tastes great. Who said that healthy snacking meant taking the enjoyment factor out of food? I would highly recommend Fibre One Oats & Chocolate Bars by General Mills. If you want to try more Fibre One products, try the Oats & Peanut Butter bars as well.
